      The process of manufacture of MATCH SPLINTS and VENEERS (BOXES) from soft wood starts from the collection of suitable soft wood. Certain soft woods are only used for the manufacture of Match Splints ad Veneers. The Sequence of manufacture of Splints and Veneers (boxes) are as follows.

Collection of suitable soft wood.

Cross cutting of logs.

Debarking of logs.

Peeling of the soft wood into splints veneers.

Tray setting for splints chopping.

Splints chopping.

Splints drying.

Splints cleaning.

Splints leveling.

Peeling the soft wood for box making veneers.

Drying the veneers.

Tray setting the veneers for box cutting.

Cutting the dried veneers into box sizes.

Waste removing and bundling the box veneers.

Sharpening knives and chissels.
