         Poovathingal Engineering today is one of the leading Match Splints and Veneers (Boxes) machinery manufacturers in India. Established in 1935 we started with our SAFETY MATCH making unit. In 1972 we launched a unit for production of machinery required for manufacturers producing MATCH SPLINTS and VENEERS from soft wood. Our experience of over 25 yrs in the SAFETY MATCH unit was to our advantage in producing top class machineries. They are over 500 satisfied customers throughout India. More over we export machines to Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh and Nigeria (Africa), where they have proved their quality and performance.

Safety Match industry can be broadly classified into Two parts.
Manufacturing of Splints ad Veneers from soft wood.

Making finished Matches (In INDIA) this process is called MATCH CHEMICAL DIPPING. We are mainly manufacturing machinery for making MATCH SPLINTS AND VENEERS (BOXES) from soft wood. Making complete Matches (MATCH DIPPING) are mainly done manually in INDIA with the help of some hand tools, fixturers, frames, etc: which does not need any machinery. Only in automatic Match manufacturing units machines are used for this process. Due to the high cost, these plants are very rarely used in India.
